We don’t know what to say here. We all feel pretty helpless. The people at UNICEF seem to know how to help the kids in Ukraine, Gaza & Armenia (amongst, sadly, many other countries). Donate to UNICEF by clicking through this big box here. We’ll be updating our games this year but not much else, sorry.

Papanași are a delightful dessert from Romania and Moldova. These tasty treats consist of fluffy, fried pastry that is filled with a creamy mixture of cheese, eggs, and sugar. Once cooked, the Papanași are typically topped with a dollop of sour cream and a generous spoonful of fruit jam.

The dough of the Papanași is slightly sweet, and has a light and airy texture that pairs perfectly with the rich, creamy cheese filling. The sour cream adds a tangy note, while the sweet jam topping provides a burst of flavor that ties everything together.

This is an easy-to-follow recipe with photos showing the process. While Romanian cottage cheese is preferred, this tells you how to prepare a cottage cheese from Tesco to make it usable.

You have to applaud anyone who makes a baked vegan version of fried cheese doughnuts. You’re fighting multiple battles here, and quite frankly it looks like the baked vegan ones could win. Much like the author Oana, we don’t like frying things either, so we will give these a whirl!
