We don’t know what to say here. We all feel pretty helpless. The people at UNICEF seem to know how to help the kids in Ukraine, Gaza & Armenia (amongst, sadly, many other countries). Donate to UNICEF by clicking through this big box here. We’ll be updating our games this year but not much else, sorry.

Erdbeerbowle (Sparkling strawberry punch)

No ALCOHOL Option

Erdbeerbowle is a popular summer German drink typically made with fresh strawberries, white wine and sparkling water. It’s easy to skip the alcohol and make a fruity punch that’s even suitable for kids. Colourful and refreshing, it’s a great option to serve up in a pitcher (or even a big bowl) for your party!

WE MADE THIS!

Erdbeerbowle has been enjoyed in Germany for centuries, with roots dating back to the Middle Ages. Over time, the recipe has evolved to include additions like sugar, other fruits, and even spirits like rum or brandy.

The great thing about these punches is most things go. Some recipes use one bottle of wine, others a combination of dry and sparkling, or even red and white. The alcohol free options are endless too, with lemon & lime soda, sparkling water or grape juice all great alternatives.

We liked the addition of elderflower syrup in this recipe for the extra sweetness so used this as our base!

Slice the strawberries and place into a large pitcher with the mint. Add the lemon juice and elderflower syrup. Stir, then leave for an hour.

2.

Put a couple of ice cubes in each glass, add a lemon slice, then pour the punch in. Enjoy!
